The structure of the Ministry of State Security of the People’s Republic of China currently includes 18 operational directorates, subordinate departments and departments:
Administrative departments and subdepartments of the Ministry of State Security of the PRC:

• Party management (Office of coordination with the CPC Central Committee);
• Legal Department;
• Political governance:
Operational departments of the Ministry of State Security of the PRC:

• 1st Directorate – reconnaissance from the territory, recruiting agents from among foreigners on the territory of the PRC;
• 2nd department – political intelligence;
• 3rd department – scientific, technical and economic intelligence;
• 4th department – operational work in disputed territories (about. Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau);
• 5th department – analytical;
• 6th department – organization of the operational work of the territorial Departments of the MGB;
• 7th department – external counterintelligence;
• 8th department – counterintelligence on the territory of the PRC;
• 9th department – work on anti-government terrorist organizations and foreign NGOs on the territory of the PRC;
• 10th department – work on emigration and anti-government organizations abroad.

Technical departments of the Ministry of State Security of the People’s Republic of China:

• 11th department – archive;
• 12th department – collection and analysis of the results of public opinion polls on the territory of the PRC;
• 13th department – sectoral and territorial administration;
• 14th department – control over postal items and e-mail;
• 15th department – informational;
• 16th Directorate – electronic intelligence, space and photographic reconnaissance.

Other departments of the Ministry of State Security of the PRC:

• 17th department – management of foreign economic state-owned enterprises (since 1999);
• 18th department – fight against terrorism (since 2009).
